Not more than one year ago I went thru the experience of search for a different organization where to make my contributions and I find out something was missing. Being my current profile – at that time- part time report and Dashboard developer, part time architect and part time documenter within the same project within the same organization for about 10 years, I did never have the time to master the details of each one of the applications of the SAP BO Enterprise suite; however I did consider myself and expert and by others many time as a subject matter of expertise in many if not all of the items related to report construction, dashboard design, connectivity, deployment, migration, security and more.
When I started knocking the doors, the certification was a plus (almost a requirement) since my experience wasn’t specific to a single item. I believe it seems to be difficult to think of an administrator that makes mobile prototypes for customer presentations or design Dashboard fully connected to the Webi reports or the back end DB, at the same time.
Well, I decided to put one certification to back my up in what I do, however (due to the investment) want to consider either the new version (4.0) or the not so new version (Xi 3.1). The issue I have is I have not environment were to practice BI 4.0, however many blogs say the concept is the same as Xi 3.1 and the core doesn’t change that much.
Do you have experience in BI 4.0 to say the core is the same as Xi 3.1? trying to imply that just studying the material for BI 4.0 and my experience in Xi 3.1 will increase the changes to approve the test or indeed some experience would be needed for BI 4.0?
Would you go with the not that new certification (Xi 3.1)?
